Sectus Residential -- Sightseeing in Wales Middle Wales is absolutely lovely--going there was the perfect antidote to the heat of Stumptown in the summer, because the UK was unusually cool and rainy for July. I was so warm, I didn't need a blanket, even though the temps were 65 degrees Fahrenheit (20-ish centigrade) during the day. Wales was like autumn or early spring, my preferred seasons. Here's where the Sectus Residential was held at the Bwlchcoediog Bunkhouse and Nature Reserve, which is pronounced bull-COY-dee-ogg. I still can't pronounce it. Absolutely spectacular views, and enjoyed myself, even wiith the back injury. As a group, went to Harlech Castle, Cymer Abbey, and Penarth Fawr, a medieval house. A couple days later, Helen and I saw an absolutely lovely church, called St. Mark's in Brithdir, with a huge beaten copper panel showing scenes from the bible. Amazing. Still looking for the link that shows the panel, as my photo doesn't do it justice. |
